Early last century, the electricity for Sydney’s tram system was generated in the Turbine Hall. One hundred years later, this vast space with its suspended aircraft provides a dramatic setting for any event.
Ideal for presentations, displays and product launches, the Turbine Hall’s spacious interior delivers a virtual blank canvas to create an amazing event.
Once the boiler house for the Ultimo power station, at the southern end of the exhibition the old power station’s brick chimneys are still visible.
Host your banquet or cocktail event amongst cars, space rockets and trains; including Steam Locomotive No. 1234 and the Governor of New South Wales’s railway carriage from the late 19th century.
The Junction courtyard is at the lower entry to MAAS Museum and the end of the Goods Line. A relaxed unique setting for medium and large events.
The outdoor setting provides a great alfresco space. The undercover walkway allows for a hawker style food setting and the large walls provide the ideal projection screen.
The Junction provides a modern setting for small, medium and relaxed events.
The high ceiling complements the industrial feel, and paired with the Junction Courtyard, this venue allows interior and exterior spaces to blend and enrich the atmosphere of your event. It’s the venue that loves to dress up and get in character – from organising white gloved waiters for table service events, to recreating theatre stall service where waiters carry toolboxes filled with prawns on ice.
The MAAS Café is a bright airy café which includes an outdoor terrace. During the evening, the café kitchen and serving area is hidden and enclosed behind luminescent white panels. Orange florescent tube lighting frames the windows and dramatically contrasts against the exposed black painted brickwork.
